Our Open Minds champions

If you are interested in volunteering as a champion to help us spread mental health awareness in the community, find out more here

Our champions come from a diverse range of backgrounds, and every experience counts. This valuable insight is what so often encourages people to seek support, do something differently, challenge stigma and create an environment where it’s good to talk about mental health and be kind.

Champions talk about how alone they felt when they struggled with their mental health or how they see people suffering in silence and want to reach out to take some action.

When you hear someone bravely sharing their story about what they have learnt about mental health and self -care, people pay attention, really listen and reflect on it. This becomes a catalyst for change.

Open Minds champions Leigh and Alfie get involved

Leigh and Alfie turned awareness into action for men in a rural barber shop. They created a film together to share important messages, and continue to give out information where they work.

We would always love to have a conversation with you to see how you might get involved. To become an Open Minds champion, read our role description and then complete the application form.
