Parent and families group volunteer

We have an exciting opportunity to be involved in supporting staff to deliver our mental health and well-being support through our parent support service, Families in Mind. The role involves co-facilitating in person group sessions to support people who use our service to improve their mental health and well-being

This role involves working with staff to deliver our mental health and well-being support through our Families in Mind service supporting families with young children.

What's involved?

Volunteering a minimum of two hours a week alongside the team to help with one or more of the following:

  • Support people who use our service to take part in our group sessions
  • Practical help making refreshments and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for parents
  • Support through individual conversation in the group.

What we ask for

  • That you are practical, caring, considerate of others, empathetic, understanding and patient
  • That you are a confident communicator with good listening and people skills
  • Knowledge and experience or involvement with parents and early childhood would be welcome
  • Experience of working with parents and/or early years welcomed
  • Would be committed to being part of the service on a regular basis.

Locations:

Littlehampton on Monday mornings (10am-12noon)

Worthing on Tuesday afternoons (12noon-2pm)

Shoreham on Wednesday mornings (10am-12noon)

Fishersgate on Thursday afternoons (12noon-2pm)
