16 hours a week, negotiable across Monday - Friday

West Sussex Mind is a local mental health charity committed to promoting mental well-being in local communities and supporting people along their recovery journey. We are working alongside other organisations within the Pathfinder West Sussex Alliance to enable people with mental health support needs and their carers to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

We are looking for a Peer Support Worker (grade 1) to work in and with our Adur Mental Health service located at The Corner House in Southwick.

The successful applicant will work with the Southwick team to: 

· facilitate and develop peer support by leading peer support activities 

· to support the delivery of work that would contribute to the achievement of individuals personal support plan goals 

· to undertake a range of operational and administrative tasks to support the delivery of the service 

Your own lived experience of mental health difficulties, and using mental health services, are essential for this role.  Evidence of previous experience, and learning relating to supporting adults who have mental health needs, would be an advantage. Also, some experience of leading and facilitating group activities will be helpful.  

The successful candidate will need to be able to evidence that they can work within our policy frameworks and meet basic competencies around managing yourself, your work, and working with people.
