Mental Health Worker - Crisis Cafe (Worthing)

Are you passionate about supporting people struggling with their mental health and looking for an exciting and rewarding new role? We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and resilient mental health worker to help us run this vital out of hours service.

Hours: 30 per week, four evenings and weekend shifts per week on a rota basis. (There may be some flexibility in terms of the hours)

Salary: £26,247.00 per annum based on 37.5 hours per week (G3)

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days per year rising to 27 days after 2 years (based on full-time hours)

Contract: Permanent

Overview

We have a new vacancy to join our dedicated team who provide a safe and supportive service for people who are struggling to cope when other mental health services are not available. The service is currently open 5pm-10.30pm on weekdays and 12 noon–10.30pm on weekends.

Our work

The successful candidate will work within a small team of Mental Health and Peer Support Workers to support people who may otherwise experience a mental health crisis. This includes offering a listening ear along with structured support to develop a well-being plan and signposting advice. You’ll also take turns with colleagues to organise and lead delivery of the shifts.
