Parents and Carers Project Lead

We have an exciting new opportunity to develop and lead a new project to provide support (including peer support) to parents and carers who are caring for children and young people with emotional and mental health problems.

Salary: £17,140.50 per annum based on 22.5 hours per week (£14.65 per hour)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Location: Based in Littlehampton or Southwick with some home working

Fixed Term Contract until the end of March 2023

For this role we are looking for individuals with relevant children and young people’s mental health, parenting, family and supervision/management work experience and ideally a qualification in project management or in a related field such as a teacher, social worker, youth worker or counsellor.

You will be skilled in developing and leading a project, developing effective partnerships and implementing plans. The project lead will have very strong administrative skills, excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to juggle complex issues. You will have experience of supporting, training and developing staff and volunteers to meet project goals.

The project aims to:

  • Increase the confidence, knowledge, skills and ability of parents to support their children
  • Support parents around their own well-being and increase their resilience to continue supporting their children
  • Signpost parents/carers to other sources of support
  • Develop the giving and receiving of peer support for parents

The successful candidate will be based at our Southwick or Littlehampton office and the role will involve some homeworking.
