We are looking for enthusiastic and resilient Youth Mental Health Workers to help us deliver our successful young people’s service, BeOK

Hours: 22.5 - 37.5 hours

Salary: £23,185.50 -£25,750.00 pro-rata

Contract: Permanent

Location: Chichester and Arun districts

Could you make a difference to local young people? West Sussex Mind are looking for Youth Mental Health Workers to join our successful young people’s service, BeOK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team who work together to support young people aged 16 – 25 years old with mental health needs. Perhaps you have had experience in youth work, school pastoral roles or young people’s housing projects that you can bring to our team?

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and provide recovery focused one-to-one sessions, group support and learning opportunities to young people.
  • Oversee and develop peer led support for service users.
  • Work closely with the rest of the team to develop their knowledge.

With more existing experience they will also:

  • Provide outreach into young people’s settings to develop and provide.
  • Be responsible for line managing a peer support worker and/or volunteers within the service.

The ideal candidate will have background knowledge of young people’s mental health needs through training or experience and be willing to develop. You may already have a range of experience and be able to work independently using your own initiative. As well as demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for recovery focused mental health work, you will be a strong team player.

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and an independent means of transport in order to fulfil the role covering the Chichester and/or Arun District and supporting team members in other locations (mileage will be paid for travel beyond agreed base).
