Would you like to support our work by becoming directly involved? Volunteering can be extremely rewarding for you personally as well as valuable to West Sussex Mind and local people facing mental health issues.
We have great opportunities for you to use your skills to support people with mental health needs and to provide you with valuable experience for future volunteering and work opportunities.
We sometimes have specific roles at our community projects and events for which we require volunteers as well as positions in areas including marketing, fundraising and administration.
What would I do as a volunteer?
A volunteer for one of our community projects might support individuals who need a bit more help with an activity. If you feel you would be good at spending time with people and talking to them and suggesting or leading activities appropriate to the group, this could be for you.
Other roles, such as in fundraising or marketing, could include raising awareness of Mind, being active in the community, administrative tasks and helping to run events.
What skills do I need?
If you have good communication skills, are practical, caring, considerate of others and patient, helping with one of our community projects could be the right volunteer opportunity for you. Of course, we also want you to be committed to being part of the service on a regular basis.
If you are a confident communicator, passionate about mental health and have good organisational skills, an administrative, fundraising or marketing role could be the option for you.
We welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health issues.
