Schools and professionals supporting young people and families

We offer some great training opportunities for people who support children and young people. We can also help your organisation look after the wellbeing of your staff and colleagues

At West Sussex Mind, we've been working with schools and youth organisations for nearly a decade, training teaching and support staff to understand young people's mental health.

We recognise that the complexity and scale of children and young people's mental health concerns is growing and that this adds pressure for those working in educational and community settings.

"The course offered a very thorough and deep understanding of mental health. Very good examples and personal experiences shared"

We want to do everything we can to support you, your colleagues and wellbeing professionals in your organisation - as well as the young people you support - to achieve the best possible outcomes. We can offer:

  • Youth Mental Health First Aid courses (online and in person). We are an accredited provider with MHFA England
  • Free e-learning courses (eating disorder awareness, self-harm and understanding the behaviour of children and young people)
  • Workshops about mental health topics, such as trauma and school avoidance
  • Bespoke training according to your needs.

All our training is delivered by our friendly and experienced team of trainers, many of whom have experience as educators, clinicians or parents and/or lived experience of mental health. All our courses can be delivered face to face or online and evening or weekend sessions are also available.
