Specialist workers in GP practices (adults)

We have mental health workers based in GP practices in Worthing, Lancing, Steyning, Henfield, Storrington and Billingshurst

West Sussex Mind has specialist mental health workers based in GP practices across Billinghurst, Henfield, Lancing, Loxwood, Littlehampton, Midhurst, Petworth, Pulborough, Shoreham, Southwick, Steyning, Storrington and Worthing. If you live in these areas, you could choose to seek mental health support in your local practice.

You can speak to staff at your GP surgery, who could refer you to one of our team. We can then help you with:

  • A personalised support plan
  • One-to-one support, either face to face, over the phone, by phone or by video call. One-to-one work is generally offered in blocks of six sessions
  • Assisting you to find solutions to specific problems or difficulties and how to develop skills and strategies to maintain positive mental health
  • Identifying triggers and early warning signs that may indicate that your mental health is deteriorating and how to manage this in a healthy way
  • Useful resources to help you manage your emotional well-being
  • Information about other services that may be available in your local area.

If you seek support with us via your GP, your GP records will reflect this. If you are interested in this support, please speak to your GP. We also work closely with clinicians in the NHS, so if you need additional help with your mental health, we can refer you to them.
