I am a qualified management accountant with specialist experience in financial software implementation and support. This has provided me with the financial skills and business knowledge that I am able to bring to the role of trustee. Being a trustee with West Sussex Mind is a very rewarding way to spend some of my free time during retirement, alongside other volunteer roles and hobbies.
My business experience is not within mental health but my personal experiences with family and friends mean it is something I am enthusiastic about.
My main passion is support and awareness around young male suicide. A friend of mine lost their son to suicide at a young age so I feel we should develop the support available for young people struggling with their mental health. Together we can work to ensure help is easily accessible. The role of trustee provides me with the opportunity to do something worthwhile for a charity that needs help and allows me to provide a positive and rewarding contribution.
