Making contact with our support services

Woman giving mind booklet

What can I expect and what will happen when I first make contact and ask for help?

First appointment/discussion

We will have a conversation with you about how you feel, what is happening for you and what you want. We may give you advice and information and also tell you about other services and support that could help. We will also explain a bit about what we offer to see whether you think we will be able to help you. We'll also consider if our services can meet your needs.

If we agree that our services can help, we will ask you to talk more about your situation and what you feel you need. Sometimes we may see you a few times to help you develop your understanding of what you need and for us to understand this better too but sometimes a single conversation may be enough.

Support plan

If you use our services, we will expect you to work with us to develop a support plan which outlines what you think you need, what help is available and how our services could help you. The support plan will outline some goals which you will set for your self. We will ask you to develop a basic plan when we first meet but this may then develop and change as you continue to use our services and understand better what works for you.
