Small businesses

Some of our greatest supporters are small businesses in West Sussex. There are many ways your business can fundraise to help local people with mental health problems

Small businesses are often at the heart of their communities and so are ideally placed to offer practical help and support.

We’re always grateful for the donation of raffle prizes or other items for our fundraising events. But small businesses have helped us in other ways too. A tattoo parlour which gave away tattoos in return for a donation to West Sussex Mind. Restaurants giving a donation for every order of a certain dish. Or simply having a collecting tin by the till.

Often colleagues enjoy the team-building experience of taking on a sponsored challenge event together, such as the group above from Bennett and Game Recruitment in Chichester who took part in Brighton's Colour Obstacle Rush.

Small businesses with employees can also set up payroll giving schemes, a way of enabling regular donations which provides tax benefits for both employers and employees.

Every penny collected helps us to support people in the community with their mental health needs.

Our fundraising team is ready with help and advice, and we can provide supporters T-shirts, collection tins and buckets, banners and leaflets to help promote your fundraising events.

Supporting West Sussex Mind encouraged us to have more open conversations about mental health with our colleagues. Fundraising has definitely helped us raise awareness about mental health here at the same time as raising much-needed funds.
