Older people 65+

We support older people in Bognor, Chichester, Lancing, Southwick and surrounding areas

Our support in the Adur, Arun and Chichester districts

Many people experience social isolation and this impacts their mental health and well-being. We help people over 65 in Bognor, Chichester, Lancing, Southwick and surrounding areas who are feeling low, have depression, anxiety or other mental health needs, especially if they are isolated.

The team, which includes our amazing volunteers, can help you with:

  • In person one-to-one support
  • Support on the phone or online
  • Social activities - in person and online - such as arts and crafts, gentle walks and picnics, quizzes, bingo and other games
  • Befriending opportunities
  • Mindfulness and mental well-being sessions.

Our experienced service manager, Jo Bulis, is supported by the co-ordinator and team of trained volunteers and mental health workers.

The befriending service we offer can be of particular help if your mental health is having a big impact on your everyday life. Befrienders can help you feel less isolated and give you confidence to do the things you want to do.

Our social meetings are an opportunity to chat with others in a friendly and relaxed environment.

All our different sessions, whether focusing on creativity, conversation, outdoor activities, physical or mental well-being, aim to increase confidence, self-esteem and encourage independence.

We have volunteer befrienders in Bognor and Chichester to support older people who may be socially isolated or who have lost confidence in getting out and about.

If you, or someone you know, could benefit from our older people's support in Bognor or Chichester, please call Jo Bulis on 07495 077341 or email cim@westsussexmind.org.
