Youth Mental Health Worker

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and resilient Youth Mental Health Worker to help us deliver our successful young people’s service, BeOK

Contract: Permanent

Hours: part-time – 22.5 hours per week

Salary: £15,444 (£13.20 per hour)

Location: Chichester - with the expectation to work across the Chichester District and some travel to our West Sussex Mind buildings.

Could you make a difference to local young people? West Sussex Mind are looking for a Youth Mental Health Worker to join our successful young people’s service, BeOK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team who work together to support young people aged 16 – 25 years old with mental health needs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide outreach into young people’s settings to develop and provide recovery focused one-to-one sessions, group support and learning opportunities.
  • Oversee and develop peer led support for service users.
  • Be responsible for line managing a peer support worker and/or volunteer within the service.

As well as having experience of working with young people with mental health needs, you will demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for recovery focused mental health work and be a strong team player. You will be able to work independently using your own initiative and be able to contribute to the development of the service.

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and an independent means of transport in order to fulfil the role covering the Chichester District and supporting team members in other locations (mileage will be paid for travel beyond agreed base).
