  • Guide someone towards the right support
  • Reduce the stigma of mental health issues.

The course is divided into four sections:

  • What is mental health?
  • Suicide and depression
  • Anxiety, eating disorders, and self-harm
  • Psychosis.

How will I learn?

This course will be a blend of self-learning actives and live interactive sessions with the trainer and other course participants. The total learning time is approximately 16 hours.

The live sessions will be a mix of presentations, group interaction and activities. Our instructors provide a safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the whole course. If you don’t feel comfortable joining in certain parts, then there is no pressure to.

Live sessions

The Adult MHFA consists of four x 3 hour live sessions with a qualified course instructor.

You will need to attend all four live sessions for the full duration to complete the course. There will not be an opportunity to catch up on anything that has been missed.

Self-learning activities

Before each live session you will be required to complete some online learning. This can be completed in your own time but must be completed before each live session. These self-learning activities will take between one and two hours to complete each.
