Suicide first aid: understanding suicide intervention

Suicide first aid training gives you the tools and knowledge to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths. We will teach you the simple skills that are needed to help someone with thoughts of suicide stay safe from their thoughts, and stay alive

Taught over six hours using tutor facilitated Socratic learning, tutor-led role-play, mini lectures, group work exercises and audio visual presentations. This is a highly interactive and emotionally engaging learning experience

All attendees receive an NATIONAL CENTRE FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION accredited certification. Accredited by City & Guilds of London. Upon satisfactory completion participants attain six credits at level four.

The course will cover:

*Suicide stigma, thoughts and behaviours, intention versus outcome behaviour and possible causes

*Understanding population-based approach to suicide prevention and partnership working

*Meeting the needs of a person, suicide safety guide , recognising and asking about suicide and understanding options

*Safeguarding suicide, Suicide-safety and self-care, risk assessing and connecting after an intervention

This workshop is £1,900 for up to 16 people

We are also able to offer our half day course which is designed to meet the needs of larger groups, with less time to access the learning.
