Understanding young people’s mental health

Explore young people's mental health and some of the common issues that affect them

Specifically designed for professionals working with young people, and parents and caregivers, this workshop explores common issues affecting young people (aged 11-18), and examines the difficulties that surround talking about their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

In addition to being signposted to further resources after the event, participants will receive the following:

  • Practical information about children and young people’s mental health, including symptoms of mental health difficulties and their impact
  • Awareness of factors that help maintain good mental health
  • An understanding of the developing mind
  • Subject knowledge of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, as well as coping strategies
